Nestled in the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains at an elevation of 6,286 feet, Ouzel Campground offers a rugged, back-to-basics escape for those looking to disconnect. This year-round USFS site provides a serene forest setting, making it an ideal destination for campers who appreciate the simplicity of nature and the crisp mountain air. Because it is a primitive site, visitors can expect a truly authentic outdoor experience surrounded by the natural beauty of the high country.

The campground features 13 campsites, with a convenient mix of eight first-come, first-served spots and five reservable sites. Each individual site is equipped with a picnic table and a fire ring, perfect for evening campfires. Please note that this is a dry campground with no water available on-site, so campers must pack in all the water they will need for the duration of their stay. Portable toilets are provided during the peak season to assist with basic needs.

Ouzel is best suited for experienced tent campers who are well-prepared for self-sufficient, primitive camping. While the site accommodates both tent and RV camping, the lack of hookups and water facilities makes it a better fit for those seeking a rustic, off-the-grid adventure rather than a luxury resort experience.
