Union Creek Campground - Rogue River

Steeped in history, Union Creek Campground was originally constructed in 1934 by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Located just 18 miles west of Crater Lake National Park, this unique destination allows visitors to immerse themselves in a stunning old-growth forest. With 73 distinct sites, the campground offers an authentic outdoor experience surrounded by the towering trees and natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

The campground is well-equipped for a comfortable stay, featuring vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings at each site. Firewood is available for purchase, and visitors can enjoy easy access to nearby hiking trails and prime fishing spots along the Rogue River. While most of the 73 sites are primitive, there are three full-hookup sites located near the day-use parking area.

Because of the dense forest and tight curves, the campground is best suited for tent campers and smaller RVs; trailers over 28 feet are generally not recommended. Access to sites 64 through 87 can be particularly challenging due to the large trees lining the roadway. This year-round destination is ideal for those seeking a rustic, peaceful escape in the heart of Oregon's wilderness.
