Horse Camp: Keenes is a unique federal campground nestled within a stunning high-elevation stand of lodgepole pine and mixed conifers. Located just on the edge of the expansive Mt. The campground is specifically designed to accommodate equestrian travelers, featuring 13 individual sites equipped with 26 hi-line posts, a mounting ramp, and two manure bins. While the site provides water for stock, visitors must remember to bring their own drinking water for personal use. Because there are no utility hookups, this location is best suited for tent campers or those with self-contained rigs who appreciate a rustic environment.

Adventure awaits right outside the campground, with immediate access to several prominent trails, including the High Lakes Trail, Keenes Trail, and Muddy Meadows Trail.
