Sandstone Cabin offers a unique high-altitude getaway situated at 8,167 feet within the beautiful Sierra Madre Range of Wyoming. Nestled directly beside State Highway 70, this federal site is surrounded by breathtaking aspen groves and is a frequent haunt for local wildlife, including moose, elk, and bears. It provides a peaceful, beginner-friendly escape for those looking to immerse themselves in the rugged charm of the Rocky Mountains.

The cabin is well-equipped for a comfortable wilderness experience, featuring propane-powered lights, heating, a stove, and a refrigerator, along with limited solar power. Guests have access to flush toilets, showers, picnic tables, and fire rings, with potable water provided on-site. Visitors can enjoy direct access to hiking trails and prime fishing spots, making it an excellent base for outdoor exploration.

This site is ideal for families or small groups, as the cabin comfortably sleeps five to six people across two bunks and a queen bed. While the cabin is available for reservations from mid-June to late October, the location is accessible year-round. Please note that pets are not allowed at this facility, and visitors should plan accordingly for their stay in this stunning alpine environment.
