Vedauwoo Campground (WY)

Nestled at an elevation of over 8,200 feet in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, Vedauwoo Campground is a stunning destination famous for its massive, weathered granite rock formations. The landscape provides a unique and rugged backdrop that is a dream for outdoor enthusiasts. Managed by the USFS, the campground features two main loops offering 29 standard non-electric sites, alongside a dedicated loop with 20 tent-only sites. Amenities are rustic but functional, including picnic tables, fire rings, and vault toilets. While there are no utility hookups, campers can access water via a handpump located in the northern loop of the main campground.

This campground is best suited for tent campers and RV travelers who enjoy a more authentic, off-the-grid experience. Because of the rocky terrain and high-altitude setting, it is a fantastic base camp for those interested in rock climbing or exploring the unique geology of the Wyoming wilderness. Please come prepared for primitive conditions and enjoy a peaceful stay surrounded by nature.
