About This Location
Experience the rugged beauty of Alaska’s White Mountains at the Wolf Run Cabin. This primitive BLM site offers year-round access and stunning limestone views.
Nestled in the heart of Alaska’s breathtaking White Mountains, the Wolf Run Cabin offers an unparalleled wilderness experience. Rebuilt in 2006, this site provides visitors with a front-row seat to spectacular jagged limestone cliffs and towering peaks. It is the perfect destination for those seeking solitude and a true connection to the raw, rugged Alaskan landscape.
The 12 by 16-foot cabin is designed for primitive comfort, accommodating up to six people with bunk beds, a table, and benches. While the site provides a wood stove for warmth, a cook stove, and an outhouse, guests must come prepared to supply their own propane and cut firewood for the wood stove. Additional tools including an ax, saw, and broom are provided on-site to assist with maintenance.
This location is best suited for adventurous tent campers and those comfortable with a rustic, off-the-grid lifestyle. Whether you are looking for a basecamp for mountain exploration or a quiet retreat under the vast northern sky, Wolf Run Cabin serves as an iconic, year-round destination for those ready to embrace the elements in one of Alaska’s most scenic regions.
