Three Mile Campground

Three Mile Campground offers a unique and remote wilderness experience located directly on the Rock Harbor Channel. Managed by the US Forest Service, this federal campground provides a tranquil setting for those looking to immerse themselves in the rugged beauty of the Great Lakes region. The site is accessible exclusively by foot, canoe, kayak, or private boat, making it a true destination for adventurers seeking solitude away from the beaten path.

The campground features eight shelters and provides dock space for boaters, with a nine-foot depth under normal conditions. Please note that a one-night stay limit is strictly enforced between June 1 and September 17 to accommodate the high volume of seasonal visitors.

This campground is best suited for tent campers, backpackers, and paddlers who are prepared for a moderate experience level. Because there are no hookups or modern vehicle amenities, it is not designed for RV travelers.
