Cowboy Camp Campground

Cowboy Camp offers a rugged and truly secluded escape for those looking to experience the raw beauty of Utah’s canyon country. Tucked along a high ridge on the mesas above Moab, this primitive BLM campground provides campers with striking, panoramic vistas of the surrounding desert landscape. It serves as an ideal basecamp for outdoor enthusiasts eager to explore the nearby Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park.

This area is a haven for adventure, featuring numerous 4WD roads and extensive mountain bike trails right at your doorstep. Please note that access to this location is challenging, as high-clearance vehicles are strictly required to reach the sites. The campground is not suitable for RVs, trailers, or pull campers.

Facilities are minimal, consisting of seven individual first-come, first-served campsites equipped with toilets but no water. Each site is limited to ten people and two vehicles. Because of the difficult access and lack of amenities, this location is best suited for experienced tent campers and off-road adventurers who are fully self-sufficient and prepared for a primitive backcountry experience.
