Maples Campground

Maples Campground offers a unique, primitive camping experience for those looking to escape the traditional park setting. Located near the Snowbasin Ski Resort, this former USFS site has transitioned into a dispersed, natural area. While all formal facilities such as restrooms, fire rings, and picnic tables have been removed, the site remains open for public use, providing a rugged and tranquil atmosphere for those who appreciate true wilderness camping.

The terrain is accessible only by non-motorized means, requiring visitors to hike, bike, or ride horses approximately one-half mile from the gate located off the lower Snowbasin parking lot. Because the area is no longer managed as a developed campground, visitors must be prepared for a self-sufficient experience. It is essential to camp away from the established trail that winds through the site to maintain the integrity of the landscape.

This location is best suited for tent campers and backcountry enthusiasts who are comfortable with a carry-in, carry-out approach. It is not suitable for RVs or trailers due to vehicle restrictions and the lack of hookups or motorized access.
