Stickpile Hill Hiker-Biker Overnight (HBO) Campsite is a rustic, free-to-use federal campground managed by the USFS, offering a quiet retreat for those seeking a back-to-basics outdoor experience. Located at mile 149.4, this site provides a unique, no-frills setting perfect for travelers looking to disconnect and enjoy the natural beauty of the West Virginia wilderness. The site is accessible year-round, though visitors should note that water service is suspended annually from November 15 to April 15.

Each campsite is equipped with essential amenities, including a picnic table and a grill, to facilitate comfortable outdoor cooking and dining. The site features chemical toilets and is designed to be ADA accessible, ensuring that the space remains inclusive for all visitors. Please be advised that potable water may not be consistently available at every site, and any water sourced on-site is treated with iodine; carrying your own water purification tablets is highly recommended.
